Moving forward, we are working on independent funding through different channels, press materials, casting, location, and much more.

Hello,

The ‘Woodfalls’ funding effort has been up for a few weeks now. We decided to try Kickstarter, a site that allows people to back creative projects and support the arts, so we could invite fans and friends to be part of our new film as well as bring together a community of supporters all working towards a common goal.

Right now we’ve raised over $1,000 dollars by backers donating small amounts. Thanks to them, we’ve kept a “think big, act small” mentality, that if we all come together we can create something amazing.

Rejuvenation complete! We had a great meeting this morning and are moving forward on things. As mentioned in our Kickstarter, ‘Woodfalls’ is an exploitation thriller influenced by styles of 70’s exploit films like ‘Last House on the Left’… we want to give a tribute to David Hess, lead actor in the 1972 film, who died recently, by sharing a link to the film. 'Dale Farms' Update: Time to Get Involved

Dale Farms Solidarity launched a photo campaign ‘Time to Get Involved’ on October 7th to break the stigmatization that “no one cares about Dale Farms.” They are asking people to simply write on a sign “I SUPPORT THE FAMILIES OF DALE FARMS” and take a photo of themselves holding it. Check it out:

Update! We’ve changed a few reward goals on our Kickstarter. 42 days left! We thank all who have donated already and invite others to be part of this project. With ‘Travellers’ being exposed so much in UK media at the minute, we feel our story is relevant to these current events and has great success potential.

Travellers Misrepresented on TV

When ‘My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding’ premiered everyone loved it, laughed, and found the show to be outrageous.

“To watch “My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding” is to see Travellers and Roma as uneducated, flashy, and closed-minded people who live in mobile-home parks and throw enormous parties.”

This is a misrepresentation of the Traveller community shown in a sensationalized way to give television its good ratings. We want to change that with ‘Woodfalls’ and show a raw take on the subculture.

Dale Farms is suffering due to the councils eviction notice on their land. They are working towards clearances and awaiting a final decision on whether or not they’ll have to leave their homes behind.

Travellers want to preserve their cultural roots but the modern world is against them. Let’s give this community some love and attention…

Official Selection at the 2011 Sundance Film Festival, the documentary ‘KNUCKLE’ by Ian Palmer films Irish Travellers over a course of 12 years. It looks amazing and I can’t wait to see it in theaters. Link below:

Residing in Ireland, the Travellers are a traditionally nomadic clan with a deep sense of communal pride – notably, when a conflict arises between clan members, the dispute is settled by rounds of bare-knuckle fighting.
